About Me

Alexandru Busuioc – Backend engineer focused on reliable systems, platform modernization, API integrations, and production performance.

I’m Alexandru Busuioc, a senior software engineer with 14+ years of experience building, shipping, and improving software for the web. I work across the delivery lifecycle, from technical planning and system design to implementation, deployment, and production maintenance.

My work spans backend engineering, system design, and operations. I turn requirements into technical plans, build APIs and integrations, and remain involved after release. That includes debugging production issues and interpreting logs, traces, dashboards, and performance metrics. I have experience with Sentry, Grafana, New Relic, and Loki.

I care about measurable results. I have used caching to take a process from failing after roughly 30 seconds to completing in seconds, and made MySQL data synchronization up to 10x faster.

My platform work includes leading migrations from PHP 7 to PHP 8 and Symfony 4 to Symfony 5, assisting with MySQL 5 to MySQL 8 and Elasticsearch to OpenSearch transitions, and managing Kubernetes infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Spinnaker. My experience also includes AWS and event-driven systems.

I have contributed to Phalcon and Mautic, and I co-authored The PHP Workshop, published by Packt in 2019.

If you’re hiring for a senior backend engineering role, or need help with reliability and performance, platform modernization, or integrations, I’d be glad to talk.
